Anise – Renaissance Herbs

A versatile annnual herb with a strong aniseed flavour. Anise has attractive feathery green growth with masses of white flowers formed on umbels in the warmer months.

The leaves of Anise can be used in soups, salads, stews and viniagrettes. Seeds are useful in adding an aniseed flavour to biscuits, cakes, stewed fruits and other sweet dishes.

Anise tea is beneficial in aiding digestion.

Care Tips: Regularly harvesting and use of a liquid fertiliser such as Ecovital will keep Anise producing and growing well. Allow this annual herb to flower so the seeds can be used for cooking or for sowing in the following year.
