Sometimes called Chioggia or candy striped beetroot this heirloom variety originates in Italy. It has sweet foliage and a sweet root with attractive red and cream striped rings.
Growing Conditions:Full sun to partial shade. Well-drained soil. Can be grown year round. Plenty of water will make a tender root.
Harvest:3-4 months after planting.
Use:The leaves can be used in a salad and the sweet root can either be eaten raw or cooked.
