Camellia – Black Lace

An extremely popular and versatile plant, it can be pruned into a small tree, shrub, espaliered or used as a hedge. They have beautiful flowers and are an excellent addition to any garden. They need acidic soils so should only be added into the ground when you have prepared the soil for them with lots of organic matter. They should be kept moist during summer with regular applications of mulch to keep the roots cool.

‘Black Lace’ blooms during autumn and winter producing double flowers that are a deep red. It grows up to 3m tall and 2.5m wide with glossy, dark green foliage. It should be grown in a position protected from the afternoon sun and heat, especially during the dry summer months.
