An extremely popular and versatile plant, it can be pruned into a small tree, shrub, espaliered or used as a hedge. They have beautiful flowers and are an excellent addition to any garden. They need acidic soils so should only be added into the ground when you have prepared the soil for them with lots of organic matter. They should be kept moist during summer with regular applications of mulch to keep the roots cool.

‘Pure Silk’ is a early blooming variety with pink buds that open into a white, semi double flower. The flowers are produced in autumn and early winter. It grows to 3m tall and 2m wide with upright, vigorous growth.
