A tough indoor plant with wide, leathery leaves, it can grow up to 2.5m tall and 1.5m wide but is unlikely to reach that size when potted. In summer it produces spikes of white flowers that are followed by ornamental orange berries.

It is a great potted specimen for indoors and under the patio. It can also be planted in the garden, it is dry tolerant once established so would be great for water wise and Mediterranean gardens.

It should be planted in part shade in fertile, well drained soils. It needs to be grown in an area protected from frost and extreme heat.
