Colocasia – Green Taro

Tropical clumping perennial with large heart shaped mid-green leaves. The tuber is edible when cooked and is a stable food for many pacific cultures. The young leaves can alos be eaten if well cooked. Grows up to 1.5m high. Suitable for either growing in a pond or in moist/boggy soil. Partial shade preffered but will tolerate full sun.
