Banana Trees

Bananas are a very popular tropical fruit that can be grown in the right position in Perth. Banana trees need fertile soils rich in organic matter, with plenty of potassium and nitrogen added.

They prefer steady temperatures and dislike extreme conditions such as strong winds, intense heat or cold, and being too exposed.

Fruiting may begin after 9 months but can take longer. Once the fruit has been harvested, the mother plant will die, and the pups will grow up in it’s place.
